What Amazon asks of a main image

Amazon’s guidance for the main image is consistent: the product on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), filling at least 85% of the frame, with no text, logos or watermarks, and large enough for zoom — 1000 pixels or more on the longest side, with 1600 or more recommended. Category rules differ (clothing and jewellery have their own), so check Amazon’s product image requirements in Seller Central, and Amazon’s own summary in the seller forums, before a large upload.

What this page does — and what it does not

It makes every photo a 2000 × 2000 square on pure white, never cropping the product, enlarging small photos to fit, and saves each as a JPG at 85% quality — consistent sizes and a clean white canvas across the whole catalogue in one pass. It does not remove an existing background: for photos shot on a coloured or cluttered background, use the bulk background remover first. And it cannot make a loosely framed product fill 85% of the frame — crop those first with the bulk image cropper.

Secondary images

Lifestyle shots, infographics and close-ups do not need a white background. Turn the preset’s padding off or pick “Crop to fill” to keep them full-bleed at the same size, and add a text watermark if you want your shop name on them. Every setting here is the bulk image editor’s, and you can save your own version as a preset for next time.

Frequently asked questions

What size should Amazon product images be?
Amazon enables zoom on images that are at least 1000 pixels on the longest side and recommends 1600 pixels or more. This page makes every image a 2000 × 2000 square, which meets both and leaves room for zoom detail.
Does this make the background pure white?
It makes the added space pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255): each photo is placed on a white square without cropping. It does not remove the background the photo was taken on. If your product was shot on grey or a busy background, remove the background first with the AI background remover, then run the results through this page.
Will my product fill 85% of the frame?
Only if the photo is framed tightly. The image is enlarged to fit the square, so a product that already fills the photo will fill the square along its longer side. If there is a lot of empty space around the product in the original, crop it first with the bulk image cropper.
Can I add my logo or a watermark?
Not on the main image: Amazon does not allow text, logos or watermarks there. For secondary images and your own shop, the text watermark step in the editor is one switch away.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser and the photos never leave your computer, so there is no account and no daily limit.
