How to use
Add your JPG images
Drop a folder onto the box above, or press Select images. Up to 200 at a time; they stay on your machine.
PNG is already chosen
Every image will be written as a lossless PNG. Nothing else to set.
Convert and download
Each image lists its old and new format. Take one, or the whole batch as a ZIP.
When you need PNG instead of JPG
Some upload forms, design tools, game engines and print workflows ask for PNG. And an image you will edit and save again and again is better kept as PNG: a JPG loses a little quality on every save, a PNG never does. Converting a batch here writes each JPG as a PNG with exactly the same pixels.
What it does not do
Converting cannot add detail a JPG has already thrown away, and it cannot make the background transparent — a JPG has no transparency to carry over. To remove a background, the bulk background remover does that with AI and returns transparent PNGs. To make an image bigger without blur, use the bulk image enlarger.
File size
Expect the PNGs to be larger than the JPGs — often several times larger for photographs, because PNG is lossless. If size matters more than the format, keep the JPG and run it through the bulk image compressor.
Other conversions
This page is the bulk image converter opened on PNG. The same batch can go to WebP, AVIF or ICO, and the reverse is on the PNG to JPG page.
Frequently asked questions
- Does converting JPG to PNG improve the quality?
- No. A PNG keeps exactly the pixels it is given, so it will not lose anything more — but it cannot bring back detail the JPG already lost. Converting is right when the next step needs PNG, or when you will edit the image many times and do not want it to lose quality on every save.
- Why is the PNG bigger than my JPG?
- PNG is lossless and JPG is not, so a photograph saved as PNG is usually several times larger. That is expected. If you only need a smaller file, keep the JPG and use the compressor instead.
- Can the PNG have a transparent background?
- The PNG can hold transparency, but a JPG has none to keep, so the converted image is fully opaque. To cut out the subject and make the background transparent, use the background remover.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. The conversion runs in your browser; the images never leave your computer. That is why there is no account and no limit on how often you use it.
